Tara Harper of Most Eligible Dallas Chosen as Celebrity Judge
Tara Harper will attend Hero Dog Awards as a celebrity judge alongside Betty White, Whoopi Goldberg, and Jillian Michaels.

DALLAS, TX, September 27, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Tara Harper has been chosen to be a celebrity judge at the American Humane Association's Hero Dog Awards in Beverly Hills, CA on Saturday October 1, 2011. Ms. Harper will sit alongside other celebrity judges like Betty White, Whoopi Goldberg, Jillian Michaels, and other stars to select the event's Grand Prizewinner.

The American Humane Association Hero Dog Awards(TM) celebrates the animals that enrich, enhance, and even save people's lives. 453 dogs were nominated and the top 8 finalists have been selected; their backgrounds differ from police, military, and service dogs. Over 300,000 votes have been cast so far which has led to a $200,000 sponsorship donation to the American Humane Association.

While Ms. Harper is well known for being a cast member of the reality TV series Most Eligible Dallas, she first gained national attention as an animal advocate in 2005 when she co-founded Paws in the City animal rescue located in Dallas, TX.

"My passion in life is helping animals so being part of this event is not only an honor but it is also another way that I can contribute to the cause of animal welfare on a national level--and that's what is most special to me," stated Ms. Harper.

The event is at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, CA on Saturday October 1st from 5:30 pm to 12:00 am. Tickets are still available through the American Humane Association website.

Not the typical reality TV personality, Tara Harper is Executive Vice President of Sales at SPI Inc and co-founder of Paws In The City animal rescue, which began in 2005 and is responsible for saving the lives of 550 animals in 2010 alone.
